Kerala Onam & Boat Festival Tour
Onam is a famous Hindu festival of Kerala which is celebrated with unmatched zeal and enthusiasm during August-September. It is also known as the Harvest festival of Kerala. According to legend Onam commemorates the Vamana avtara of Lord Vishnu and also to mark the arrival of King Mahabali once in a year to visit his people. To welcome King Mahabali people decorate their houses and prepare flower carpet called 'Pookalam' at the entrance of their houses. Special rituals are performed followed by grand feast, cultural and other activities.
3 Nights / 4 Days:
Day 01: Arrival at Trivandrum
Welcome by our tour executive on arrival at the airport/railway station and proceed to Kovalam beach. You will check-in at the designated hotel. Spend the evening in festivity. Overnight haul at hotel in Trivandrum.
Day 02: Onam Festival
Onam celebration starts in the morning with Pookalam competition followed by Onam Sadya – a vegetarian feast. Then watch the rich heritage of Kerala reflects through its cultural programs/events. Overnight haul at hotel.
Day 03: Alleppey – Payippad
In the morning drive to Payippad to witness the Payippad Boat Race where you see the snake boat race and other cultural activities. Overnight haul at Alleppey.
Day 04: Departure
After breakfast leave for Cochin for onward destination with the sweet memories and promise to be a part again next year.
